June 21, 2023 – Bending bows is in Janna Hawash’s blood.
“My mom was an Olympian,” said the 16-year-old. “I want to follow in her footsteps.”
The Grade 11 student at St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School was recently selected to represent Canada at next month’s world archery youth championships in Limerick, Ireland.
She’ll compete in the Under-18 category alongside five teammates, with another two battling for bull’s-eyes in the Under-21 event.
